From these main genres however are many sub-genres, such as with rock music there is:
- Classic Rock
- Punk-Rock
- Heavy Metal
- Prog. Rock
Steve Neal declares that 'Genres are instances of repetition and difference'. He also said that 'difference is absoloutely essential to the economy of genre' and so repetition would not attract an audience. I will bear this in mind with the creation of my products as I will have to make sure not to repeat anything so to make it appeal to an audience but uses some conventions to make it relate to my genre.
